FORMER BUSINESS MAN
FINDS DEEPER MEANING THROUGH COWBOY POETRY
“All the women would
succumb to his charms, and melt like butter when he took them into
his arms” – Cody Carter
Cody Carter walked away from the business world to find a deeper
meaning to life and in the process not only found Cowboy Poetry, but
his sweetheart from 40 year’s ago.
Before Starting his journey of discovery Cody was a regional manager
for a large advertising company. Ten years ago, with his two
sons soon to complete their college education and a marriage ending
in divorce, Cody started to think about what he had accomplished in
life and where he was heading. One thing was certain: he needed to
find something more meaningful, so it was only natural for Cody to
return to his roots.
Growing up in the foothills of the Arkansas mountains in a large and
loving family who entertained each other and their friends with
songs and tales of cowboy life, Cody was drawn to finding his sense
of fulfillment in doing what he loved -- working with horses and
spinning cowboy stories.
“To find my dream I started out as a cook on a cattle ranch in
Taos, New Mexico, and wound up
as a wrangler on a guest ranch in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Before
too long we turned the barn into a dance hall and I began to
entertain guests with my Cowboy Poetry. It’s funny how things
turn out, though. After one of the horses I was training fell on me
and broke my knee and ankle
I
began to focus on my Cowboy Poetry, and in 1998 I began to perform
professionally, “Cody added.
But fate had more in store for this business man turned performer.
Through a series of serendipitous events he received a phone call
from his high school sweetheart who was now living in Illinois.
“Within weeks, we knew we needed to be together, so I packed up my
car and headed for her home in Northwest Illinois -- and into her
arms,” Cody said. “It’s been an amazing journey. Here I
was searching to put new meaning into my life and discovered the pot
of gold at the end of the rainbow.”
Cody Carter performs his Cowboy Poetry in full western costume and
is available to cater parties with a cowboy flavor – from smoked
meats and sides to what his sidekick calls a veggie meal. For

The rich history of cowboy poetry goes back before the Civil War.
The poetry tells about the lives of cowboys, ranchers and western
settlers. They are the real life stories of a vanishing way of life. |
