TIBBITS AND WAHL TO TOP POSTS

Complements Leading Authority
NEW YORK, June 8, 2000 – NAFE (National Association of
Female Executives), a division of WorkingWoman Network, today
announced the appointments of Gretchen M. Tibbits to President, and
Melissa Wahl to Vice President and Executive Director.
Barbara Littrel, President, WWN Ventures, said, “Both Gretchen and
Melissa have contributed extensively to the dynamic growth of our
Company overall. I know they will continue to take NAFE to new
heights, and enhance the opportunities between NAFE and WWN’s new
endeavors.”
Tibbits, who has held key management positions with parent company
WorkingWoman Network, formerly MacDonald Communications,
since 1996, joined the company as Director of Planning and Analysis.
Her responsibilities included the budgeting, forecasting and
strategic planning for Working Woman and Working Mother
magazines and the company’s conference and event division.
Tibbits also served as a member of the team that coordinated the
acquisition of NAFE in 1997. In 1999, she was promoted
to Vice President, Cross Media Synergy and Director of MC3
Ventures. She has been a key force in creating the
strategy and business plan for WorkingWoman Network and
WorkingWoman.com. Her Cross Media Synergy Group was formed to
work with sales on major account partnerships to leverage offline
and online properties. Tibbits received an MBA from New York
University’s Stern School of Business, where she received the Dean’s
Award and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She is a
University of Virginia Echols Scholar, and is President of the New
York chapter’s Alumni Association. She also serves on the
Executive Board of the University’s Alumni Council.
Melissa
Wahl has been with NAFE for ten years and is a Certified Association
Executive by the American Society of Association Executives in
Washington, DC. She serves on the advisory board of the New
York Women’s Agenda (NYWA), and the Women’s Center in San Mateo,
California, and is a member of the Washington-based National Council
of Women’s Organizations. Her management expertise in
for-profit and non-profit associations has positioned her within the
media and business communities as a frequent resource on women’s
issues. Wahl has published many articles on women’s workplace
issues, and is publisher of Executive Female, NAFE’s
award-winning bimonthly publication for NAFE.
